Role overview

We are looking for an experienced Reinstatement Operator to join the Queenstown team. In this hands-on position, you will manage reinstatement work end to end, making sure asphalt, concrete, and grass restoration activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

The role calls for someone who can work independently as well as alongside others, while coordinating site activity, contractors, and internal teams. A strong focus on safety, quality, and reliable delivery is essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for reinstatement projects from setup through to final completion
  • Deliver all reinstatement work safely, efficiently, and within required timeframes
  • Follow project schedules and traffic management requirements while meeting quality expectations
  • Complete risk assessments and apply controls that support a zero-harm environment
  • Guide team members when needed and reinforce accountability and safe working practices
  • Support Veolia Operations and Renewals teams on site to help meet contractual deadlines
  • Work closely with the Team Lead, contractors, and internal stakeholders to keep jobs moving smoothly
  • Keep communication clear across all stages of the work
  • Carry out inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets required standards
  • Maintain accurate site records, including safety and compliance documentation
  • Work in line with health and safety laws and company procedures
  • Contribute ideas and actions that improve processes and operational efficiency

Experience and knowledge required

  • Practical experience in reinstatement work, especially with asphalt and concrete
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with coworkers and contractors
  • Skill in identifying faults in damaged road infrastructure
  • Strong troubleshooting ability with a practical approach
  • Experience in the water or wastewater sector is preferred, though not essential
  • Understanding of water and wastewater operations and maintenance is an advantage
