About Halter

Halter is dedicated to empowering farmers and graziers to enhance productivity and sustainability in agriculture. Our innovative solutions enable livestock to move voluntarily without traditional constraints like quad bikes, dogs, or fences, offering a transformed grazing experience. Our team is passionate about solving significant challenges within a culture that values high performance, creativity, and commitment to impactful change. Supported by leading venture capitalists and industry pioneers, Halter is positioned to revolutionize farming methods.

Role Overview

We are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Regional Sales Manager to lead the Beef sales division in the South Island. This role demands a proactive individual who thrives in field sales, building strong relationships with farmers, promoting Halter's offerings, and closing deals. The successful candidate will also be tasked with quota setting, commission management, and mentoring junior sales personnel to achieve team growth and success. This position is based in Canterbury, preferably Christchurch, and involves extensive travel across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and oversee sales quotas, commissions, and management functions for the Beef sales team.
  • Coach and develop junior sales staff to enhance their professional capabilities and sales performance.
  • Identify and cultivate new sales opportunities through cold outreach, industry events, referrals, and inbound inquiries.
  • Manage the entire sales pipeline from prospecting to contract negotiation, including conducting on-farm product demonstrations.
  • Collaborate closely with Customer Success teams to ensure optimal post-sale execution, satisfaction, and renewals.
  • Maintain strong communication and support with clients throughout deployment waiting periods.
  • Represent Halter at industry events, demonstrations, and foster enduring brand relationships within the agricultural community.
  • Gather customer feedback to inform and guide product development.
  • Continuously improve sales processes to increase efficiency and predictability during rapid company growth.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of five years' comprehensive experience in end-to-end sales roles.
  • Proven success in generating new business leads, scheduling meetings, and creating sales opportunities.
  • Strong background in value-based sales with demonstrated high-volume deal closure experience.
  • Effective communicator capable of articulating Halter's value proposition persuasively.
  • Preferably experienced in dairy farming or the broader agricultural sector.
  • Results-orientated, highly motivated, and excellent time management capabilities.
  • Adaptable under pressure and capable of quick strategic thinking.
  • Experience in technology-oriented sales environments is advantageous.
  • A university degree or similar qualifications are favorable but not mandatory.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health coverage through partnership with Southern Cross Health Insurance.
  • Generous parental leave offerings: six months paid primary caregiver leave and four weeks secondary caregiver leave, along with numerous family support benefits.
  • An annual personal development allowance of $1,000 to support lifelong learning and growth.
  • Wellness initiatives including wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave to emphasize work-life balance.
  • Competitive and inclusive total compensation package incorporating salary, benefits, and an employee stock ownership scheme.
