Receiving Clerk

Position Overview

The Receiving Clerk at Aloft Abu Dhabi is responsible for managing incoming merchandise efficiently by sorting, marking, and delivering items to their respective departments within the facility. This role includes organizing inventory, ensuring items meet quality standards, and adhering to proper food safety practices.

Key Duties

• Receive deliveries, carefully inspect items for damage, accuracy, quality, freshness, and cleanliness.
• Properly store perishables and rotate stock according to guidelines.
• Mark merchandise correctly and stage by department for easy placement.
• Use pallets or carts to stack merchandise and complete requisition forms for inventory.
• Notify supervisors promptly when stock levels are low.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of refrigerators, freezers, floors, equipment, and drains in food-related areas.
• Dispose of empty pallets, cardboard, and trash properly within designated areas.
• Perform safety reporting, training, and comply with all company policies including uniform standards and confidentiality.
• Maintain professional communication with guests and colleagues, fostering positive team relations.
• Physically perform tasks including lifting, moving objects up to 50 pounds, navigating confined or uneven spaces, and prolonged standing or walking during shifts.
• Carry out additional reasonable tasks as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• No prior related work or supervisory experience required.
• No specific licenses or certifications mandatory.
