Quantity Surveyor

Overview

Freedom is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at the Leeds head office. This permanent position involves working on diverse construction initiatives, including underground cabling, overhead line, and substation projects. You will oversee the commercial management of projects from the initial feasibility study through to their final handover, collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain stringent cost and value management, completing monthly Construction Value Reports (CVRs).
• Ensure contracts with clients and suppliers are comprehensive and aligned to project scopes.
• Generate accurate cash flow forecasts.
• Measure and value works for payment applications.
• Handle cost variations and finalize accounts with clients and suppliers.
• Identify and communicate Early Warnings and Compensation Events timely.
• Organize and lead monthly project review meetings.
• Manage disputes and defect resolution processes with clients.
• Attend client progress meetings regularly.
• Follow protocols for securing client work approvals.
• Conduct commercial post-audit of completed works.
• Oversee invoicing and debt management.
• Communicate effectively across various organizational levels.
• Manage and coordinate supply chain activities.
• Contribute innovative ideas promoting continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated experience delivering pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying services within construction projects using NEC3 contracts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid full UK driving license.
• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
• MRICS accreditation is desirable.
