Role Overview
We are recruiting a Quality Control Technician to join our team. This role suits individuals who are detail-focused, technologically adept, and eager to develop a career in civil construction, quality assurance, surveying, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and ensure understanding of all QA/QC protocols following company, client, regional, and regulatory standards.
- Organize and supervise testing personnel onsite to guarantee testing occurs at specified locations aligned with project requirements.
- Record, collect, and maintain precise testing and quality control documentation.
- Support field data gathering, surveying, and earthworks operations.
- Provide timely updates and project-related data to Project Coordinators and Managers.
- Oversee onsite truck ticket management including material entries and exits documentation.
- Assist in managing project paperwork and familiarize with the submittal procedure.
- Utilize technological tools and software, including Nektar, for asset management and project tracking.
- Collaborate with project teams to meet objectives related to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Maintain comprehensive records and contribute to project reporting needs.
- Advocate and uphold a robust safety culture on project sites.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Post-secondary education in fields such as Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, Surveying, Construction Management, or related areas is advantageous.
- Experience in civil construction, earthworks, surveying, quality control, or project coordination is favorable.
- Strong proficiency in computer operations with the ability to quickly master new software and technological platforms.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Exceptional attention to detail paired with excellent organizational abilities.
- Skilled in accurately collecting, recording, and managing project data.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications is beneficial.
- Experience with GPS machine control, surveying devices, GIS, or construction management software is a plus.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver's License along with readiness to travel to project sites as needed.
