About the Role
Join Amazon’s International Public Policy and Government Affairs team to contribute to global policy advocacy affecting consumer and digital business sectors across Europe, Middle East, Africa, India, and Asia Pacific. This position centers on advancing Amazon Leo, a Low Earth Orbit satellite initiative aimed at delivering fast, low-latency broadband to underserved communities worldwide, focusing on engagement in the Middle East and North Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business, Regulatory, and Legal to strategize and implement advocacy campaigns in the Middle East and Africa.
- Manage relationships and communications with senior governmental policymakers and multilateral/regional organizations.
- Represent Amazon at industry conferences, meetings, and with consultants, trade associations to promote telecoms and space-related policies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in disciplines such as Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, or Economic Development.
- Practical experience with international legislative and regulatory frameworks within telecom, connectivity, space, or related technology sectors.
- Proven skills in advocacy, including persuasive oral and written communication.
Preferred Attributes
- Master’s degree or higher in relevant fields.
- Ability to convey complex topics clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in managing ambiguity, prioritization, and delivering results in dynamic environments.
- Strong knowledge of telecoms, spectrum regulation, space, or other regulated industry policies.
- Regional experience across multiple countries in the Middle East and North Africa.
- Experience interacting effectively across corporate and political levels, crafting accessible messaging, and delivering persuasive presentations.
- Unwavering ethical standards, confidentiality, and integrity.
- Competence to analyze legislative impacts on business operations and communicate implications internally and externally.
- Skills in negotiation, influence, and exercising sound judgment and political astuteness.
- Critical thinking proficiency including scenario analysis, probability weighting, and recommending optimal actions.
- Experience cooperating successfully with cross-functional teams.
