Role overview

The Global Innovation team in New York is looking for an experienced project manager who can help guide a busy innovation portfolio in a fast-moving, highly complex spirits environment. This role calls for someone who can manage cross-functional work, influence stakeholders, lead diverse teams across locations, and keep innovation projects moving from idea through commercialization with speed, discipline, and consumer focus.

The salary range for this New York-based position is $115,200 to $143,990 per year. Compensation may differ outside this location and will be finalized during the interview process based on experience, skills, internal comparison, and the responsibilities of the role.

What you will do

  • Support the Global Innovation vision by helping coordinate the U.S. innovation pipeline and contributing to collaboration with global partners.
  • Create project plans and KPIs aligned to brand strategy and business priorities.
  • Take ownership of selected innovation workstreams, including design, development, test-and-learn market activity, and detailed R&D or operations projects.
  • Lead innovation launches end to end, from early concept development through commercial rollout.
  • Work closely with local and global brand teams, CORBY, NBV, and other cross-functional partners to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Identify risks, timing issues, and budget pressures, then help resolve them with practical and creative solutions.
  • Build consumer thinking into stage-gate and tracking processes so project decisions stay consumer-led.
  • Share learnings and best practices with the broader Pernod Ricard innovation network, including international teams, BrandCos, and global headquarters.
  • Coordinate with local brand marketing teams, Corby in Canada, U.S. Whiskies, and BrandCos to align on innovation priorities and secure approvals for local brand initiatives.
  • Set up project plans by clarifying the opportunity, scope, goals, deliverables, risks, timelines, budgets, resources, and project sponsors.
  • Keep project schedules current, assign responsibilities, manage dependencies, and maintain team alignment.
  • Lead meetings, drive decisions, maintain momentum, manage conflict, and escalate issues when needed.
  • Prepare status updates and circulate meeting notes for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Run cross-functional sprints for projects ranging from design and development to market tests and operational execution.
  • Support projects wherever needed across the innovation system and help move critical PRUSA initiatives through governance and stage-gate approvals.
  • Manage agency partners and internal teams to deliver strong execution on time and on budget.
  • Lead assigned initiatives from ideation to commercialization with support from senior leaders on the team.
  • Monitor project costs, timelines, and workflows while spotting scope creep and opportunities to accelerate launch timing.
  • Use analytics and consumer action standards to support innovation decisions and post-launch evaluation.
  • Encourage collaboration across BrandCos, local brands, CORBY, operations, sales, and marketing through working sessions, commitments, and shared KPIs.
  • Support best-practice sharing across international teams and help maintain project tracking in global systems.
  • Contribute to post-launch evaluation by tracking performance at 90, 180, and 365 days after launch using KPIs and market data.

Qualifications and experience

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Formal project management credentials are required, such as Six Sigma, Scrum Master, PMI, or a similar qualification.
  • At least 6 years of project management experience supporting innovation teams is expected, ideally in spirits, beverage alcohol, beverages, or another consumer packaged goods environment in North America.
  • PMO experience in a startup CPG food or beverage setting is also acceptable.
  • Hands-on experience using agile methods and delivering faster, higher-quality new product launches is important.
  • You should be able to show how you have influenced outcomes, handled difficult situations, and moved work forward in a matrixed organization.
  • Financial awareness is needed to manage P&L responsibilities and control costs while protecting essential innovation deliverables.
  • Business analysis capability is an advantage.
  • International experience in spirits or beverage alcohol is a plus.
