Role Summary

This full-time, onsite position in Dammam is for a Product Engineer at an entry-level. The engineer will assist in design development, product documentation, technical assessments, and support product engineering activities across the oil and gas product portfolio. Working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, the role involves preparing engineering drawings, calculations, technical specs, BOMs, and supporting documents in accordance with API, international, and customer standards, contributing to the development of reliable and cost-effective products.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and updating engineering drawings, 3D models, BOMs, specifications, and documentation under senior supervision.
• Support design tasks for gate valves, hammer unions, OCTG products, API lines, and wireline tools as assigned.
• Carry out basic engineering calculations, design validations, and document reviews before senior evaluation.
• Help compile design verification reports, test documentation, and product qualifications aligned with standards.
• Maintain controlled engineering records including revision history and technical registers per document control policies.

Technical and Customer Support

• Review customer requests and specifications to identify essential engineering data and clarifications.
• Support drafting technical inputs for quotations, catalogs, proposals, and application notes.
• Coordinate with senior engineers to address technical questions from commercial, quality, manufacturing, and client-related teams.
• Document lessons learned, technical insights, and customer-specific needs to enhance future processes.

Collaboration with Operations

• Provide production teams with accurate drawings, BOMs, and routing information following senior review.
• Work with procurement to offer material specifications and supplier documentation as directed.
• Assist quality teams in preparing inspection criteria, test plans, and traceability documents.
• Engage in discussions on non-conformance issues, corrective actions, and production feedback to support continuous improvement.

Standards Compliance and Learning

• Gain familiarity with API (6A, 16A, 16C, 5CT, 5B), ISO, ASME, NACE, and customer specific standards relevant to assigned products.
• Participate in audit preparation by organizing engineering records, design files, and test documentation.
• Assist in internal and external audits as required.
• Adhere strictly to engineering procedures, quality management, and document control requirements.

Continual Development and Teamwork

• Proactively learn about product design, manufacturing methods, materials, testing, and applications.
• Suggest improvements to drawings, documentation quality, and engineering data accuracy.
• Maintain a professional, cooperative attitude while collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in product engineering, design support, and technical assistance within oil & gas manufacturing, repair, or service environments.
• Familiarity with components of gate valves such as gate, seat, stem, body, bonnet, and packing.
• Knowledge of hammer unions and OCTG products, including API 5CT and 5B connection standards and premium threads.
