We're seeking a Principal Planner to join our Southern Planning team, which spans Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin offices.
Located in Ōtepoti Dunedin, this role offers autonomy to influence significant regional projects while being supported by a national team of 60 planning professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Lead intricate planning, policy, and consenting projects within a diverse client portfolio.
- Foster and grow trusted advisor relationships, identifying avenues to boost SLR's market presence across sectors like local government, infrastructure, renewables, and development.
- Deliver expert planning guidance and strategic consultation for clients and project teams.
- Provide mentorship and development opportunities for planners throughout the Southern region and national teams.
- Conduct technical reviews ensuring top-quality project delivery standards.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary specialists in SLR to provide integrated client solutions.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a qualification in Resource Management Planning or a related discipline.
- Hold full NZPI membership or be capable of attaining it.
- Have approximately eight or more years of New Zealand-based planning experience within consultancy, local government, or similar sectors.
- Proven track record in managing complex planning, policy, or consenting projects.
- Strong skills in client relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Commercially minded with the ability to recognize new business opportunities.
- Leadership style that is cooperative and supportive.
