About the Role

KLR Executive Search Group is collaborating with the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) to find its next President & CEO. ACCA is a premier national association representing roughly 3,000 HVAC contractor companies, supported by a fully remote workforce of about 18 employees. The organization's mission emphasizes advocacy, education, industry connection, and leadership.

This pivotal leadership position offers the chance to guide an essential American industry amid transformative challenges, including electrification, refrigerant changes, workforce shortages, and regulatory shifts in the HVAC sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with ACCA's Board of Directors to formulate and implement strategic plans that produce tangible outcomes.
• Motivate, lead, and ensure accountability within ACCA's staff team.
• Promote growth in membership and enhance value through improved member programs, conferences, and peer networking groups.
• Advocate effectively on legislative, regulatory, and industry matters impacting HVAC contractors.
• Build and sustain strong partnerships with manufacturers, allied associations, and other industry stakeholders.
• Enhance internal organizational processes, structures, and systems for operational efficiency.
• Oversee financial management prudently, ensuring disciplined allocation of resources.
• Represent ACCA publicly at industry events and as the organization's prominent spokesperson.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven track record as a senior executive with experience in leading teams and organizations.
• Prior involvement leading a membership-based association, trade group, or mission-centric nonprofit preferred.
• Robust business skills including strategy development, operations management, and financial oversight.
• Experience collaborating with Boards of Directors and volunteer leadership is highly desirable.
• Strong capability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and drive growth in membership or business areas.
• Background in advocacy, government relations, or regulatory activities is advantageous.
• Familiarity with contractors, trade professions, or small business management preferred.
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree with over ten years of relevant leadership experience preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.

Compensation & Benefits

• The base salary for this role ranges between 370000 and 390000 USD annually.
• Bonus opportunities are available, contingent on individual and organizational performance.
