Role overview

This position sits within a healthcare logistics environment where the goal is to keep orders moving accurately and safely through transport. The role is focused on sorting incoming orders into the correct van routes or delivery areas and supporting smooth dispatch operations.

What you'll do

• Move loads safely to the despatch bay.
• Sort orders correctly and distribute them to the right routes or areas.
• Store trays and bins in the proper place.
• Follow checking-off processes carefully.
• Work in line with health and safety requirements.
• Handle and report damaged items according to procedure.
• Support productivity targets and operational efficiency.
• Protect goods and maintain security standards.
• Keep the work area tidy and well organised.
• Provide Saturday morning holiday cover for other porters when required.

Skills and experience needed

The role calls for very strong visual attention to detail, clear spoken communication, basic written communication, and foundational numeracy and literacy. A customer-focused attitude is also important. Previous experience in a warehouse setting is preferred but not essential.

Manual handling requirement
