Role Summary
This is a full-time, in-person position in Coimbatore. The Placement Manager will be responsible for improving employment outcomes for program participants by creating strong employer connections, sourcing suitable openings, and aligning candidates to relevant opportunities. The role also includes planning placement events, guiding participants through resumes and interview preparation, and supporting career counseling efforts.
What You Will Do
- Develop and sustain relationships with employers to expand job opportunities for participants.
- Identify openings and connect eligible candidates with roles that match their profiles.
- Coordinate placement activities, including job fairs and recruitment drives.
- Support participants with resume building, interview practice, and career guidance.
- Maintain placement records, track outcomes, and prepare periodic reports.
- Work with training teams to help shape curriculum based on market demand.
- Partner with external organizations and internal teams to improve industry linkages and placement effectiveness.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in placement coordination, recruitment, or talent acquisition, especially where candidate profiles are matched to employer needs.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage employer networks, corporate relationships, and sector partnerships.
- Capability to mentor candidates and conduct employability workshops, including interview preparation and workplace communication.
- Comfort with tracking data, maintaining documentation, and reporting on placements, outcomes, and employer feedback.
- Strong written and spoken English; knowledge of local languages in Tamil Nadu will be an added advantage.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and placement activities at once.
- Strong commitment to social impact and inclusion, especially while working with youth, women, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ+ groups, and marginalized communities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Management, Human Resources, Education, or a related discipline; experience in the NGO or skill development sector is preferred.
- Comfort using spreadsheets, CRM or MIS tools, and online job portals for placement operations and recordkeeping.
