We invite applications for an experienced People Experience Business Partner to join Trimble's Christchurch site on a 12-month fixed term contract covering parental leave. The successful candidate will support a global workforce by partnering on people strategies, workforce planning, talent cultivation, and organizational change initiatives. Trimble Field Systems designs hardware, software, and services to connect field operations with office workflows across sectors like civil construction, surveying, automotive, and utilities, enabling digital transformation worldwide.

Role Highlights

This position is central to Trimble's third-largest global R&D hub, fostering a culture that blends hardware innovation with dynamic software development. You will liaise closely with business leaders to craft and implement proactive people strategies, strengthen leadership capabilities, and nurture a work environment that supports significant career advancement and business success.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business leaders within Field Systems to assess organizational needs and implement forward-thinking people strategies alongside managing impactful change.
• Maintain a visible and supportive presence onsite to enhance employee engagement and reinforce a positive site culture.
• Advise managers on talent growth, succession planning, and strategic workforce deployment to support evolving hardware and software talent requirements.
• Drive initiatives that improve employee experience, foster cultural evolution, and contribute positively to commercial objectives.
• Work in partnership with People Experience Centers of Excellence to provide guidance on complex employment relations using coaching and solution-focused techniques.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of five years progressive experience as an HR or People Experience Business Partner, ideally with a background in Human Resources or related disciplines.
• Demonstrable expertise in strategic workforce planning, talent management, or organizational design within tech-centric environments.
• Strong familiarity with New Zealand's employment laws and workplace standards.
• Excellent influence skills, self-motivation, and aptitude to operate within a fast-moving matrix organization.

Additional Advantageous Skills

• Knowledge of Australian employment legislation and compliance.
• Experience working in technology sectors producing both physical hardware and digital software products.
• Understanding of US labor regulations and experience collaborating in global matrix structures.
