Payroll Specialist – SAP SuccessFactors (Food Industry)

Overview

We are searching for a seasoned Payroll Specialist with expertise in SAP SuccessFactors to spearhead the transformation of payroll functions from manual handling to an automated, fully integrated SAP SuccessFactors Payroll system. This key strategic role involves overseeing the complete payroll process for UAE and Oman employees, enhancing system efficiency, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvements in payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire end-to-end payroll operations for staff across UAE and Oman.
• Lead the design, implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing optimization of SAP SuccessFactors Payroll systems.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately, including validation, calculation, reconciliation, approval flows, payment execution, and month-end closing activities.
• Develop and refine payroll workflows aimed at boosting automation, operational efficiency, precision, and internal control measures.
• Maintain strict adherence to UAE Labour Law, statutory rules, tax obligations, and organizational policies.
• Handle payroll accounting tasks such as general ledger reconciliation, accrual management, preparation of payroll journals, and support financial reporting as well as audits.
• Create and maintain payroll dashboards, KPI metrics, and executive summary reports that provide actionable insights supporting business decisions.
• Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, IT units, and external partners to execute payroll-related projects and system upgrades.
• Identify and deploy automation solutions to enhance payroll accuracy, reporting capabilities, and overall operational productivity.
• Provide support for internal and external payroll audits, ensuring comprehensive documentation and regulatory compliance is maintained.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
• At least 2 years of direct hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors Payroll, including implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and support in live environments.
• 5 to 8 years of overall experience in payroll management and payroll accounting.
• Demonstrated experience managing payroll for over 500 employees in multi-site organizations within UAE or broader GCC region.
• Strong expertise in payroll accounting, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and preparing financial reports.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of Pivot Tables, Power Query, complex formulas, and data analytics techniques.
• Proven track record of developing payroll dashboards, KPI reports, and delivering executive-level payroll analytics.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE Labour Law applicable to payroll processes, including leave salary computations, end-of-service gratuities, payroll deductions, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines, focusing on adherence particularly during critical payroll cut-off periods from mid to end of month.
