Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Cook/Chef to join the team at Summerset Waikanae. This role is essential in providing nourishing and appealing meals for our residents, including those who cannot visit the café, while also maintaining a lively café menu and cabinet offerings that cater to various dietary needs.
This opportunity allows you to combine your culinary skills with a meaningful purpose by enhancing the daily lives of our residents through food.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook set meals delivered to residents unable to visit the café.
- Handle short-order cooking for café customers.
- Collaborate in crafting an attractive café specials menu.
- Ensure full compliance with the approved Food Control Plan.
- Guide and support kitchen staff in food preparation techniques.
- Demonstrate creativity in fine dining and themed event catering within the village.
Shift Options
- Role 1: Fridays and Saturdays, 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Role 2: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Qualifications and Experience
- Professional cookery qualification is required.
- Previous experience as a Cook or Chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Food Safety Plans.
- Ability to work well in a team and share culinary expertise with colleagues.
