Role Summary
This full-time, on-site position in Kampala is centered on keeping day-to-day office functions running smoothly and ensuring the workplace stays organized. The Office Assistant supports the team with communication, document handling, filing, scheduling, and other general administrative duties.
Key Duties
- Answer telephone calls and handle questions from visitors in a polite and efficient manner.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to staff members.
- Use and care for office equipment and basic workplace tools.
- Sort, organize, and maintain files and records.
- Prepare simple documents and assist with meeting and schedule coordination.
- Carry out clerical tasks such as data entry, photocopying, filing, and document organization.
- Monitor office supplies and help keep stock available.
- Communicate professionally and maintain a courteous, service-focused attitude.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants should be comfortable handling calls and interacting with people, and should have the administrative and clerical abilities needed for routine office support. Familiarity with printers, scanners, telephones, and common computer applications is important, along with basic office software skills such as word processing, spreadsheets, and email. Accurate data entry, strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle several tasks with little supervision are also expected. A professional manner, dependability, and respect for confidentiality and company rules are essential.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required. Additional study or certification in office administration will be considered an advantage. Previous experience in an office support position is preferred, although motivated candidates without direct experience may also be considered.
