Molecular Biologist - Phylogenetics Specialist (Remote Contract)

About the Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable Molecular Biologist with specialization in phylogenetics for a short-term remote contract position. This role involves reviewing AI-generated phylogenetics materials, ensuring scientific accuracy, and enhancing AI evaluation processes by providing detailed feedback.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and validate AI-generated phylogenetics problems, research assignments, and assessment scenarios to ensure scientific validity and correct grading.
• Critically review AI-produced answers for biological correctness, logical soundness, and completeness.
• Detect scientific inaccuracies, errors, and inconsistencies within phylogenetics content.
• Offer thorough annotations and constructive critiques aimed at refining AI outputs.
• Work collaboratively with AI research teams to optimize evaluation workflows and improve benchmark standards.
• Utilize expertise in phylogenetics and evolutionary biology to contribute to advancements in AI model development.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a Master's or PhD in Phylogenetics, Evolutionary Biology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Computational Biology, or related Life Sciences disciplines, or demonstrate a minimum of four years professional experience in Phylogenetics.
• Exhibit strong scientific reasoning, analytical abilities, and research competency.
• Capable of delivering detailed, high-quality feedback and annotations.
• Demonstrate excellent structured communication skills and be comfortable collaborating within a remote team environment.
• Self-driven with the capacity to work independently.
• Available to start immediately and commit approximately 15-20 hours over several days, including at least 8 working hours per day with a four-hour overlap with Pacific Standard Time.

Compensation and Work Conditions

• This is a remote contract lasting a short term, requiring 15 to 20 total hours of work.
• Compensation is set at $70 per hour.
• The schedule demands at least 8 hours of daily commitment with a minimum 4-hour overlap with PST.
