Role Overview
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the R&D team. This role involves creating mechanical structures and thermal management systems for advanced electronic power supply products. You will collaborate closely with electronics engineers, as well as manufacturing, quality, and production teams, ensuring that products fulfill criteria for performance, manufacturability, quality, safety, and cost. Your support will span the entire product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical frameworks and thermal management solutions tailored for electronic power products.
- Prepare detailed part and assembly drawings, manufacturing documentation, product labeling, and other technical documents.
- Partner with suppliers to enhance product cost-efficiency, manufacturability, and quality standards.
- Integrate requirements across mechanical, thermal, EMC, safety, manufacturing, and commercial domains to produce dependable designs.
- Create product datasheets, installation manuals, and technical literature.
- Develop high-quality rendered visuals to aid product launches and marketing efforts.
- Work in conjunction with Electronics Design Engineers and other R&D disciplines throughout design and development phases.
- Engage in technical design reviews and offer expert recommendations.
- Assist with transitioning products from prototypes to mass manufacturing stages.
- Drive continuous improvements in engineering processes, standards, and methodologies.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Solid knowledge of engineering materials and selecting appropriate materials.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as Solid Edge (preferred), SolidWorks, Creo, Onshape, or Autodesk Inventor.
- Understanding of manufacturing methods including sheet metal work, CNC machining, injection molding, and additive manufacturing/3D printing.
- Between 3 to 10 years of mechanical design experience relevant to the field.
- Effective communication skills to work within multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience designing products in power electronics or electronic hardware sectors.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards concerning electronic products.
- Basic familiarity with electronic circuitry.
- Exposure to ECAD software like Altium Designer or Eagle.
- Experience aiding new product introduction (NPI) and transferring products to manufacturing.
