Maintenance Gardener

About the Role

Join Aveo at Redlands by the Bay Retirement Resort, located in scenic Redland Bay, Queensland, where you'll play a vital role maintaining gardens and building fixtures for our community of senior residents. This full-time, onsite position operates Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm, with no weekend commitments. You'll help create and sustain a beautiful, safe environment that enhances the lifestyle of residents living near Moreton Island.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily gardening and maintenance duties such as weeding, mowing, pruning, hedging, mulching, and clearing green waste to keep the gardens well cared for.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly to ensure safety and visual appeal for residents, visitors, and staff.
• Maintain communal outdoor areas, ensuring they remain attractive and hazard-free.
• Work collaboratively with maintenance contractors and suppliers to support upkeep activities.
• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance tasks throughout the community.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by Community Leaders to support community needs.
• Build strong rapport with residents by providing friendly and helpful interaction while maintaining the grounds.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in gardening or groundskeeping, demonstrating pride and responsibility in your workmanship.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions independently.
• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining maintenance tasks clearly and in a resident-friendly manner.
• Positive and approachable demeanor with dedication to quality work.
• Must hold a valid driver's license.
• Fully vaccinated with at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
