About the Role
Based in Coimbatore, the Logistics Officer will oversee the smooth and cost-efficient management of the movement of goods, services, and data throughout the company's supply chain. This involves close oversight of inventory control, transportation, warehousing, and distribution networks to guarantee prompt delivery while adhering to company and legal guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize, direct, and coordinate logistics operations, transportation scheduling, and customer service functions.
- Collaborate with production, stores, and purchasing teams to strategize dispatch plans effectively.
- Engage with external parties including vendors, transport firms, Customs House Agents (CHA), and freight forwarders to facilitate seamless operations.
- Manage all logistics documentation related to domestic and international shipments such as e-way bills, invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading, ARE-1 forms, and Letters of Credit.
- Monitor shipment statuses and ensure delivery times are met as per schedule.
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date records on stock levels, shipments, and inventory flow.
- Ensure adherence to GST regulations, EXIM guidelines, and internal company policies.
- Continuously seek to reduce logistics expenses while maintaining efficiency and timeliness in deliveries.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Have over five years of professional experience in logistics or supply chain roles, ideally within manufacturing or engineering sectors.
- Knowledge of export-related documentation and familiarity with Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) procedures are advantageous.
- Experience with ERP software such as ODOO, SAP, or equivalent systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong grasp of transportation systems, warehouse management, and inventory control practices.
- Ability to juggle multiple demanding priorities efficiently in a dynamic work environment.
