Job description
Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Lead Expert specializing in Fire Alarm and Fire Fighting systems to oversee and direct the technical and operational aspects of the team. The successful candidate will lead the team, provide expert technical support, handle escalations, assist with project and tender activities, and ensure strict adherence to manufacturer and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and mentor the Fire Alarm and Fire Fighting team ensuring high performance and adherence to quality standards.
- Offer expert technical advice and resolve complex issues related to customer queries and site challenges.
- Monitor team effectiveness through performance indicators such as SLAs, KPIs, workflows, and service delivery quality.
- Support sales and tender operations by providing technical inputs, quotations, and resource planning.
- Guarantee that all Fire Alarm and Fire Fighting installations are maintained in compliance with manufacturers' operation and maintenance standards as well as industry regulations.
- Analyze repeated technical faults and implement measures to enhance system dependability.
- Manage customer escalations diligently and maintain a strong rapport with clients.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance productivity, service excellence, and profitability.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and ensure the technical development of team members.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and keep management regularly informed about progress and issues.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10 to 15 years’ experience in Fire Alarm, Fire Fighting, and Fire Protection systems, preferably within Qatar or the GCC region.
- At least 3 to 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role managing Fire Alarm and Fire Fighting teams.
- Extensive hands-on experience with installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support.
- In-depth knowledge of Fire Alarm, Fire Fighting, Fire Suppression, Fire Pumps, Sprinkler, Hydrant systems, and related equipment.
- Experience with QCDD approvals, inspections, and compliance is highly desirable.
- Strong familiarity with NFPA standards and Qatar Civil Defence regulations, including recent technical requirements referencing NFPA standards.
- Skilled in technical estimation, tendering, quotation preparation, and resource management.
- Excellent customer service skills, ability to handle technical escalations, and team management capabilities.
Certifications
- Preferably registered as a QCDD-approved Engineer with Grade A or Grade B certification.
- UPDA/MMUP registration is an advantage for engineering candidates.
- NFPA certifications and training, particularly NFPA 13, NFPA 72, and other relevant fire protection standards.
- Certification as NFPA Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) is an added benefit.
- Manufacturer-specific certifications from brands like Notifier, Honeywell, Siemens, Edwards, Hochiki, Johnson Controls/Tyco are advantageous.
