Role Overview

We seek a seasoned Laboratory Manager to oversee laboratory functions, quality programs, technical personnel, and scientific initiatives. The position involves supervising lab performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing resources, upholding analytical integrity, and spearheading continuous improvements within laboratory activities.

Key Duties

• Formulate and execute laboratory management tactics, operational plans, policies, procedures, and quality frameworks aligned with company objectives, regulatory mandates, and industry best practices.
• Supervise daily laboratory operations including testing procedures, sample handling, analytical workflows, equipment use, resource allocation, scheduling, and operational efficiency.
• Guide laboratory personnel including scientists, analysts, technicians, and support staff, ensuring effective workforce planning, training, skill development, and performance evaluation.
• Collaborate across quality assurance, research and development, regulatory, operations, engineering, procurement, health and safety, IT, and executive teams to ensure comprehensive lab support and compliance.
• Track key performance indicators such as testing turnaround times, analytical precision, quality metrics, equipment uptime, productivity, compliance statistics, sample throughput, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure adherence to laboratory standards, regulatory requirements, quality systems, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), ISO regulations, health and safety laws, and sector-specific criteria.
• Manage laboratory quality initiatives including method validation, calibration, proficiency evaluations, quality control, deviation handling, corrective/preventive actions, and audit preparedness.
• Administer equipment lifecycle from acquisition, qualification, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting to modernization, ensuring reliable operations.
• Drive continuous improvement via Lean methodologies, automation, digital lab solutions, workflow enhancements, AI-supported analytics, and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) optimizations.
• Maintain partnerships with regulatory agencies, accreditors, suppliers, external labs, consultants, and service providers to uphold lab excellence and compliance.
• Leverage LIMS, ERP, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Microsoft Office, Power BI, analytical tools, lab automation, and data analytics technologies to monitor performance and produce actionable insights.
• Prepare comprehensive laboratory reports, quality dashboards, audit files, operational reviews, compliance documentation, and strategic advice for leadership.
• Mentor and develop scientists, analysts, technicians, quality experts, and cross-department stakeholders, promoting a culture rooted in scientific excellence, safety, accuracy, teamwork, and continual advancement.

Candidate Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Medical Laboratory Science, Engineering, Pharmacy, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline is preferred.
• Possession of a master’s degree or professional certifications in laboratory management, quality management, Six Sigma, ISO standards, GLP, or similar areas is advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in laboratory operations, scientific testing, quality control, research labs, analytical services, or similar roles.
• At least 2 years’ experience in managing laboratory staff, facilities, quality programs, or scientific operations is preferred.
• Deep understanding of laboratory management principles, analytical testing, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, lab safety, equipment oversight, method validation, and scientific protocols.
• Proficient with LIMS platforms, Quality Management Systems, ERP software, Microsoft Office, Power BI, laboratory automation, analytical instruments, and reporting tools.
• Familiarity with accreditation standards such as ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 15189, GLP, GMP, digital lab transformations, AI-driven analytics, and automation technologies is a plus.
• Strong leadership, analytical thinking, technical expertise, organizational skills, project management abilities, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder interaction, scientific reporting, team guidance, and collaboration across functions.
• Capability to balance laboratory operations with scientific precision, regulatory demands, operational efficiency, safety, and business goals.
• Ability to operate independently in both on-site and hybrid settings, supporting audits, testing needs, and operational priorities.
