Kitchen Assistant

Job Overview

Windmill Healthcare Group is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join the team at the Ferbane Care Centre located in Ferbane, County Offaly, Ireland. The role reports directly to the Head Chef and the Director of Nursing - Person in Charge.

Key Responsibilities

• Support meal and beverage preparation and serving for residents, visitors, and staff, maintaining high standards of hygiene and cost efficiency.
• Prepare residents' meal trays and dining areas, ensuring the availability of required equipment, utensils, and food quantities on schedule.
• Clean and clear the kitchen, dining spaces, and catering utensils with proper cleaning methods and equipment under Chef's guidance.
• Assist residents in menu selection to provide them with maximum options.
• Comply with hygiene, health and safety, HACCP, and COSHH regulations, fully adhering to legislative requirements.
• Help with record-keeping tasks as assigned by the Chef.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Line Manager.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong communication abilities.
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
• Ability to function effectively within a team environment.

Preferred Experience

• At least one year of experience in kitchen or catering work is advantageous.
