Junior Data Analyst

About the Role

Stratus Consultancy invites applications for the position of Junior Data Analyst located in California, United States. This role involves assisting in the gathering, cleaning, and validation of data from multiple sources. You'll be responsible for compiling reports and dashboards, conducting foundational data analyses, and spotting trends or opportunities which can improve decision-making across teams.

Working closely with senior analysts and various business units, the Junior Data Analyst will support these groups by providing dependable data insights and ensuring all analytical processes are well documented. The role also requires assisting with quality assurance of data, automating reporting tasks, tracking performance metrics, and enhancing data workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and verify data accuracy from diverse sources.
• Prepare clear reports, visual dashboards, and basic analytics summaries.
• Recognize patterns and areas needing improvement through data analysis.
• Support senior analysts and departments with meaningful data-driven insights.
• Maintain exhaustive and precise records of analytical methodologies and procedures.
• Contribute to performing data quality checks and automating routine reports.
• Assist with monitoring key performance indicators and refining data processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A bachelor's degree or higher in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or related disciplines.
• Fundamental awareness of data analysis principles, reporting standards, and visualization techniques.
• Proficiency in Excel, spreadsheet software, databases, or relevant data analysis tools.
• Preferred: Familiarity with SQL for data querying and fundamental data management concepts.
• Knowledge of data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or comparable tools considered a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail with capability to detect data inconsistencies and errors.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to approach tasks with logical methodologies.
• Skilled at organizing data and information, prioritizing work, and meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrated collaborative skills working effectively across multiple teams.
• Eager to learn new analytical tools, technologies, and evolving methodologies.
