Job description

About the Role

Places for People, one of the UK's largest housing providers and recognized among the Top 50 Best Workplaces, is seeking a qualified Joiner to join our team in Brighton. This role offers consistent work within your community, using a company van, and supports our commitment to fostering inclusive communities and enhancing customers' living experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Perform joinery tasks including installation and repairs in domestic properties.
  • Work on doors, kitchens, flooring, and internal fixtures to required standards and specifications.
  • Protect customers' homes and possessions while working.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, schedulers, and team members to meet deadlines.
  • Document and record work activities accurately.
  • Provide support to apprentices and contribute positively to team KPIs and performance.

Work Environment

  • Operate within occupied homes and vacant properties in the local area.
  • Engage with vulnerable customers in a respectful and sensitive manner.
  • Travel independently between jobs using the supplied company van.
  • Work either individually or collaboratively with other tradespeople.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must have NVQ Level 2 or an equivalent qualification in Joinery.
  • Previous experience as a Joiner, preferably within social housing or domestic environments.
  • Holding a full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Applicants need to reside within the BN postcode area due to the service patch location.

Preferred But Not Required

  • Background spanning multiple construction trades.
  • Basic IT skills or willingness to learn digital tools.

Additional Information

  • Position includes a Basic DBS check requirement.
  • Work may extend to surrounding areas as needed.
  • Permanent full-time role with core hours from 08:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday.
