About FOUR PAWS and the Role
FOUR PAWS is an international animal welfare organization focused on animals directly affected by humans, working to reveal suffering, rescue animals in need, and provide protection. The Bear Sanctuary Müritz, situated amidst Germany's Mecklenburg Lake District, serves as a refuge for mistreated and neglected bears since 2006, providing a secure and natural habitat.
We invite individuals committed to meaningful work for animal welfare to join our team at Bear Sanctuary Müritz.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and perform maintenance on outdoor areas, buildings, and other property structures.
- Plan and schedule daily and weekly maintenance and repair tasks for all technical systems in collaboration with the Facility Team Manager.
- Execute repair and renovation projects as required.
- Maintain the sanctuary grounds and facilities to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
- Support the planning and oversight of maintenance and repair tasks carried out by third-party service providers.
- Participate in enhancing the operational infrastructure across the property and suggest improvements.
- Provide technical assistance during events hosted at the sanctuary.
- Be available for on-call duty to respond to emergencies.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in technical maintenance and repair work is highly desired.
- Possess a proactive, hands-on approach with skilled craftsmanship.
- Enjoy interacting with guests and colleagues, displaying strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to animal welfare and alignment with FOUR PAWS' vision and mission.
- Proficient in both written and spoken German and English.
- Ideally hold a Category B driver's license.
