About the Company

Our client is a leading distributor in Europe for industrial maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) products, operating across 22 countries and serving over 220,000 customers. The Irish branch generates revenue exceeding 30 million, catering to blue-chip clients in sectors like pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, manufacturing, utilities, engineering, and other critical industrial operations.

Role Overview

The Inventory Specialist position is based in Limerick and reports directly to the Site Operations Manager at the clients site. The focus is on managing stock levels of fast-moving items, supporting site operations, and maintaining excellent customer and supplier relations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory of frequently used items on the customer site through timely stock replenishment.
  • Provide comprehensive support to the Site Operations Manager.
  • Offer precise quotes on a wide variety of parts and products essential for customer operational efficiency.
  • Address day-to-day inquiries and occasionally visit the customer site as needed.
  • Source parts and collect them from local vendors.
  • Handle general administrative functions in coordination with the team.
  • Ensure outstanding customer service consistently.
  • Manage customer orders from initial request through to delivery.
  • Load purchase orders into site systems and expedite goods, materials, and services to align with service goals.
  • Generate and maintain management reports efficiently.
  • Negotiate effectively with suppliers and nurture supplier relationships.
  • Collaborate with Product Category Owners when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control data within ERP systems.
  • Contribute actively to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support adherence to Health & Safety standards.
  • Promote good housekeeping practices to enhance work environment efficiency.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Possession of a valid Irish driving license.
  • Strong knowledge of MRO and engineering consumables product ranges.
  • Demonstrated skills in sales and customer relationship development.
  • Competency in negotiation and purchasing.
  • Effective communication abilities with good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Organized and methodical approach, able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Familiarity with stock management systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
