Role Overview

This part-time, on-site internship opportunity involves supporting the video production and game presentation departments by contributing original and dynamic video content creation. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with strong skills in shooting, lighting, and editing, capable of working independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments, while maintaining high integrity and organizational ability.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the video production team in developing, creating, and editing compelling video materials aligned with the Islanders' brand and core values.
• Capture footage during Islanders' practice sessions, including player b-roll and interviews.
• Assist game day production teams by recording events and games at home matches held at UBS Arena.
• Organize, log, and maintain both current and archived video footage for the Islanders' library.
• Maintain professionalism while working closely with athletes, hockey staff, and fans.
• Perform multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic work setting, adapting quickly to priority changes.

Candidate Qualifications

• Current enrollment or recent graduation from an accredited academic program related to Communications, Event Production, Broadcast Journalism, Television Production, or Theater Production.
• Proficient in handling professional-grade video equipment such as Sony FX6/FX3, Sony Alpha 1, Sony A7III, FS7, and ENG cameras.
• Experienced with non-linear editing and Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Knowledgeable in production and lighting concepts and techniques.
• Keen interest in evolving digital media, social trends, and how they impact professional sports operations.

Work Environment

• Attend home games at UBS Arena and practices at the Northwell Health Ice Center.
• Participate in team events which may occur during evenings, weekends, or holidays.
• Primary workplace located at the team’s office in Floral Park, NY.
