Hygiene Operative

Role Overview

We are looking for Hygiene Operatives to join our team at PrepWorld in Northfleet. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that production areas remain impeccably clean, maintaining rigorous hygiene standards to support a safe and efficient working environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Keep PPE dispensers stocked and ensure hygiene equipment availability at all times.
• Perform detailed cleaning and sanitation tasks on production lines, machinery, belts, and associated processing equipment.
• Handle and apply cleaning chemicals properly and safely to avoid health risks for yourself and others.
• Maintain cleanliness to meet company and customer quality standards.
• Accurately complete daily hygiene control sheets and address corrective actions promptly.
• Abide by company policies and comply with hygiene, food safety, and health & safety regulations.
• Use water resourcefully and apply chemicals at correct concentrations.
• Inspect cleaning tools, equipment, and PPE regularly, reporting any faults immediately.
• Report any incidents, hazards, or environmental issues to supervisors.
• Undertake manual handling tasks and operate safely in cold storage areas daily.

Knowledge and Experience

• Previous experience in hygiene or sanitation within food production or factory settings is advantageous but not mandatory; comprehensive training will be provided.
• A preference for candidates with around one year of related cleaning/sanitation experience.
• Basic familiarity with hygiene, food safety, and health & safety regulations is helpful.
• Ability to follow established procedures and maintain high standards of cleanliness.

Shift Details

• 12-hour day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM with scheduled breaks.
• Working patterns include Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday.
