Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled HVAC/CRAC Technician to support operations at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. This role involves the maintenance, installation, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of critical HVAC/R and Computer Room Air Conditioning systems that sustain mission-essential infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC/R and CRAC systems.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on chillers, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment.
Identify faults in electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control systems using testing tools and manufacturer guidelines.
Maintain mission-critical cooling systems for data centers, communication facilities, and secure operational sites.
Monitor HVAC system performance and suggest upgrades or repairs for efficiency and reliability enhancement.
Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and service requests to reduce downtime.
Supervise and support maintenance teams in completing assigned tasks.
Perform routine inspections to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with project standards.
Respond to emergency and after-hours maintenance demands as necessary.
Maintain detailed logs and documentation of maintenance activities and equipment.
Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations, environmental policies, and relevant codes.
Utilize Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems to document work and produce reports.
Promote a safe working environment by following operational protocols.
Carry out additional assigned facility maintenance duties.

Required Qualifications and Skills

U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to customer requirements.
Active Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance.
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
At least 5 years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC/R system maintenance and repair.
Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing CRAC systems.
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
Strong knowledge of HVAC/R equipment, chillers, refrigeration, ventilation, and control systems.
Ability to interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
Excellent problem-solving, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Capacity to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced settings.
Good interpersonal and customer service abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and quick adaptability to new software and CMMS.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License; possession of a U.S. Passport is preferred.
Compliance with USCENTCOM Deployment Policies and capability to obtain Qatari Residency Visa and maintain DOD Secret Security Clearance.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds per OSHA requirements and work in harsh climates including heat, dust, and humidity.
Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs as needed.

Desired Additional Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certification in HVAC, Mechanical Systems, or related field.
Experience supporting U.S. Air Force, Department of Defense, or operations overseas.
Background maintaining HVAC systems in mission-critical, data center or secure communication facilities.
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
Additional HVAC/R certifications such as NATE or HVAC Excellence.
Experience in supervising or leading maintenance teams.

Working Conditions and Deployment

This position involves a full deployment to Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. The role may require working in extreme environmental conditions and the physical demands of lifting and manual labor.
