Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and safety-oriented HSE & Administration Officer to support our operations at the power plant located on Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. This position entails championing a robust safety culture, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards, and overseeing site administration, logistics, contractor coordination, and employee support.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure implementation and monitoring of compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Organize and conduct safety training sessions, toolbox talks, drills, inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Oversee Permit-to-Work workflows to enforce safe working practices.
• Lead investigations of incidents and near-misses, and manage corrective action tracking.
• Maintain emergency preparedness plans including firefighting and spill prevention strategies.
• Coordinate safety committee meetings and drive ongoing HSE improvement activities.
• Manage daily site administrative tasks along with employee support functions.
• Maintain records related to attendance, overtime, travel plans, visas, and permits.
• Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and spare parts.
• Supervise outsourced providers such as security personnel, housekeeping, catering, and transportation services.
• Assist with invoice verification, vendor performance assessments, and cost management efforts.
• Facilitate effective communication with various stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency on site.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field.
• At least five years of pertinent experience in health, safety, environment, and/or site administration functions.
• NEBOSH certification is mandatory.
• Familiarity with HSE management systems, risk analysis, and incident investigation methods.
• Experience in logistics coordination and contractor oversight.
• Knowledge of SAP software and supply chain processes is a plus.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
