Role Summary
We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-focused HR & Admin Officer to manage people operations, office administration, and streamline internal processes in Nigeria. This role supports recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and employee engagement to facilitate the company’s mission toward 100% energy access.
Human Resources Administration
- Manage employee documentation securely following company procedures.
- Provide HR-related documents and support daily HR tasks.
- Assist with onboarding activities including equipment procurement, workspace allocation, and welcome kits.
- Organize internal and external training sessions in Nigeria to support learning and development.
- Ensure adherence to Nigerian labor laws and stay updated on employment legislation.
- Collaborate with legal advisors or external consultants to maintain compliance.
- Support implementation of payroll and employee benefits such as health insurance.
Recruitment
- Oversee full recruitment cycles for junior and mid-level roles within Nigeria.
- Create, review, and distribute job descriptions.
- Screen candidates and conduct interviews.
- Arrange interviews and office visits in coordination with hiring managers.
- Promote positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
- Contribute to employer branding to attract top local talent.
Onboarding and Employee Experience
- Coordinate onboarding to ensure smooth integration of new hires.
- Conduct in-person onboarding sessions covering company introduction, policies, and processes.
- Organize trainings, team-building activities, and internal events to foster an engaging company culture consistent with global initiatives.
- Serve as the HR representative and primary point of contact for the Nigeria office, addressing concerns and communicating necessary improvements to the global HR team.
Employee Mobility
- Facilitate local and international employee movements to and within Nigeria.
- Arrange travel bookings such as flights and hotels.
- Coordinate visa applications and documentation to comply with Nigerian regulations.
- Plan office visits and manage transportation logistics for field or airport pickups.
Office Administration
- Maintain a clean, well-equipped office environment conducive to productivity.
- Handle procurement and management of office supplies and equipment.
- Liaise with building lessors regarding contracts and office maintenance issues.
- Gather feedback on office conditions and propose enhancements.
- Support organization of company events and manage visits by external stakeholders.
- Track allocation of equipment for current and new employees.
Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in Google Workspace including Sheets/Excel, Docs, and Slides.
- Experience with calendar tools (preferably Google Calendar) and communication platforms (ideally Slack).
- Capable of handling travel booking systems and visa processes.
- Familiarity with managing relationships with office suppliers and service providers.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian Labor Law and recruitment methodologies.
- At least three years of HR experience covering general HR, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and office management, preferably within fast-paced startups.
- Bachelor's degree required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to HRIS platforms for managing employee records and documents.
- Experience with Dropbox Sign and Airtable.
