Role Overview
We have an exciting vacancy for a Health and Safety Executive to join Jumeirah The Red Sea property.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular health, safety, and environmental inspections across operational areas of the resort, ensuring all findings are recorded and addressed promptly.
- Support workplace risk assessments and help departments implement effective safety measures to reduce hazards.
- Assist in investigating incidents, accidents, near misses, unsafe behaviors, and conditions, including reporting, root cause analysis, and ensuring corrective action completion.
- Supervise contractor and third-party compliance with HSE policies, permit-to-work systems, and safe work practices.
- Participate in emergency preparedness activities, such as evacuation drills, response exercises, equipment checks, and departmental reviews.
- Help implement and continuously improve HSE policies, procedures, standard operating procedures, and incident management processes.
- Monitor environmental compliance related to waste handling, chemical storage, spill prevention, and maintain regulatory documentation.
- Support beach and waterfront safety by evaluating safety signage, emergency access, rescue and first aid equipment, and ensuring proper incident reporting and emergency protocols.
- Engage in internal audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance assessments covering health, safety, environmental, and operational readiness.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date HSE documentation including incident and inspection reports, risk assessments, training records, and compliance logs.
- Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions to staff, contractors, and third parties.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Security, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Human Resources, Recreation, and other departments on safety and compliance matters.
- Support pre-opening activities with site walkthroughs, inspections, operational checks, and tracking corrective measures.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or similar fields.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or an equivalent recognized health and safety qualification.
- Proven experience of 2–3 years in health and safety roles within hotels, resorts, hospitality, facilities management, construction, or related operational sectors.
- Hands-on experience conducting HSE inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, contractor safety supervision, emergency planning, and compliance monitoring.
- Understanding of environmental regulations including waste management, chemical safety, spill prevention, and regulatory record-keeping.
- Fluent spoken and written English skills.
- Previous exposure to hospitality, resort, island, beach, marine environments, or pre-opening hotel operations is beneficial.
- Additional certifications such as IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid, Fire & Life Safety or environmental sustainability are advantageous.
