Head of Supply Chain Management

Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Head of Logistics and Supply Chain to lead strategic and operational aspects across procurement, warehousing, transport, and logistics for a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) client. This high-level role involves overseeing sourcing, storage, and distribution of materials and products while ensuring regulatory adherence, cost control, and exceptional customer service. Collaborating closely with senior management and various departments, the role focuses on continuous supply chain enhancement, supplier relationship strengthening, operational robustness, and supporting overall business growth.

Core Responsibilities

• Direct procurement strategies covering raw materials, packaging, consumables, and indirect expenses.
• Establish and nurture strategic supplier relationships domestically and internationally.
• Lead contract negotiations, pricing arrangements, service level agreements, and commercial terms with suppliers.
• Track supplier performance using KPIs such as quality, cost, delivery, service levels, and compliance.
• Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Guarantee that procured materials comply with quality standards, legal regulations, and customer demands.
• Devise and apply overarching supply chain strategies aligned with business goals.
• Partner with Operations, Production, Sales, Finance, and Quality teams to synchronize demand planning and procurement activities.
• Maintain balanced inventory levels across all stages including raw materials, packaging, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Enhance forecasting accuracy, stock management, and working capital efficiency.
• Create contingency plans to reduce supply disruptions.
• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations effectively.
• Manage third-party logistics providers and transportation partners to ensure superior service and cost management.
• Optimize transportation routes, warehouse space utilization, and distribution methods.
• Monitor delivery metrics and promote improvements in on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery performance.
• Ensure handling and transport adhere to quality and compliance standards.
• Supervise warehouse functions including receiving, storage, inventory control, and dispatch.
• Implement sound inventory rotation and management techniques.
• Keep precise inventory records and facilitate regular stock audits.
• Minimize waste, prevent stock loss, and manage obsolete inventory prudently.
• Advocate best practices in warehouse operations and material handling.
• Comply with all applicable laws, industry standards, and customer requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive product traceability throughout the supply chain.
• Lead risk assessments and business continuity planning within supply chain operations.
• Support both internal and external audit processes.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Demonstrated leadership managing end-to-end supply chain, procurement, logistics, and warehouse functions within manufacturing or production sectors.
• Proficient in commercial negotiations and supplier management.
• Experience overseeing relationships with third-party logistics providers.
• Strong understanding of inventory control, forecasting, and supply chain planning techniques.
• Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks and compliance standards.
• Proven track record of enhancing processes and achieving cost savings.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Analytical mindset with experience using ERP and supply chain management software.
