Job Overview

Monex Canada seeks an experienced Head of Sales to guide and expand the nation's commercial FX and payments sales division. This leadership role blends hands-on client engagement with team management responsibilities, including recruiting, coaching, and directing sales efforts to meet revenue objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and execute strategic business development initiatives to increase Monex Canada's footprint within the Forex industry.
  • Identify growth opportunities, forge new partnerships, and explore markets to drive revenue expansion.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team, including Sales Executives, Directors, and Business Development Associates, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting professional growth.
  • Set and monitor team revenue targets, collaborating with executive leadership to align sales strategies and pricing models to optimize profitability.
  • Deliver regular performance reports and analytical insights to senior leadership, utilizing data to refine sales tactics effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by collaborating closely with Financial Crime and Compliance teams during client onboarding and ongoing operations.
  • Maintain client relationships with integrity, adhering to Monex policies and regulatory guidelines such as FCA principles and FINTRAC AML/ATF standards.
  • Handle risk management aspects, including liaising with Risk and Trading teams on margin facilities and conflict of interest identification.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Over eight years of experience in commercial FX, treasury, institutional sales, or financial services, with documented success in revenue generation.
  • A minimum of two to three years managing and coaching sales professionals within a performance-driven setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FX products, including spot, forwards, options, hedging strategies, and international payment services.
  • Proven success managing intricate client relationships and strategic accounts involving senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial insight with expertise in pipeline management, forecasting, and sales analytics.
  • Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining top-tier sales talent.
  • Familiarity with Canadian financial regulatory frameworks (e.g., FINTRAC, AML/ATF, MSB requirements) is advantageous.
  • Established connections within Canadian corporate, treasury, financial institutions, or referral networks are highly beneficial.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is preferred, especially to support Quebec market growth.
  • Will be based in or willing to relocate to Toronto, prepared for hybrid work arrangements and regional travel as necessary.

Business and Technical Expertise

  • Expertise in financial modelling, including budgeting, cash flow, and scenario analysis.
  • Understanding of pricing strategies and revenue optimization techniques.
  • Proficient in business intelligence and data analytics tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or R.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning and financial software like SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Adaptive Insights.
  • Knowledge of financial regulation, risk management, and internal compliance controls.

  • Ability to manage key stakeholders including executives, investors, and business partners.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and making data-backed decisions.
