About the Role

This senior leadership position is with a global financial services firm operating fully remotely. The Head of Operations will be instrumental in strengthening and expanding the operational capabilities of the organization. Leading multiple departments such as payments, reconciliations, business operations, and digital asset settlement, the role demands strategic leadership combined with hands-on operational expertise. The environment is fast-evolving and technology-driven, focusing on redefining financial operations management.

Key Responsibilities

Define and drive a comprehensive operational strategy aligned with company goals, emphasizing scalability, efficiency, compliance, and quality.
Lead core operational teams including payments, treasury, reconciliations, card operations, back-office, and business functions.
Ensure outstanding operational performance by setting measurable standards, controls, and improvement processes.
Champion process improvements, automation, and operational transformation utilizing data, technology, and AI-based solutions.
Establish and enforce standardized procedures to boost operational consistency, efficiency, and transparency.
Recruit, coach, and develop a high-achieving operations team fostering accountability and ongoing enhancement.
Collaborate closely with compliance, risk, and financial crime departments to fulfill regulatory and internal policy requirements.
Implement operational risk management including monitoring, reporting, control frameworks, and audit preparedness.
Work with other leaders from technology, data, HR, and client service teams to ensure cohesive business operations.
Manage end-to-end digital asset settlement processes, such as reconciliation, wallet management, custody oversight, and crypto-fiat operations.

Candidate Requirements

Over 10 years of advancing experience leading operations in regulated environments such as banking, fintech, or wealth management.
Demonstrated success managing multiple operational domains like payments, treasury, settlements, and back-office functions.
Proven skill in process re-engineering, automation, and creating scalable operational workflows.
Thorough knowledge of financial regulations, AML frameworks, compliance, and financial crime mitigation.
Experienced in leading diverse teams and building effective, responsible operational units.
Strong leadership acumen with effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and complex problem-solving capabilities.
Strategic thinker with the ability to convert business goals into concrete operational plans.
Hands-on experience or understanding of digital assets, cryptocurrencies, or blockchain operations is highly advantageous.
Comfortable working independently in a fully remote and international setting while collaborating effectively.
Must have access to a dedicated workspace and reliable high-speed internet connectivity.
