Role Overview
Target Group seeks a commercially astute finance leader to serve as Head of Commercial Finance / FP&A, spearheading the financial planning and analysis function while influencing major strategic business decisions. Based in Cardiff with a hybrid work model requiring at least 1-2 days per week onsite, this role reports to the CFO and is part of the Finance Senior Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead FP&A operations as a trusted advisor to the CFO, Executive Committee, and senior leaders.
- Provide insightful financial analysis addressing margin enhancement, revenue optimization, and cost efficiency.
- Manage the annual budget, rolling forecasts, reforecasting, and risk assessments.
- Drive business partnering activities, overseeing key profit and loss accounts.
- Conduct monthly financial reviews; challenge projections and measure KPIs to enhance accountability across departments.
- Maintain and develop client profitability models to support pricing decisions and performance measurement.
- Oversee project reporting including business case evaluation, variance analysis, and governance compliance across revenue-generating, investment, and non-billable projects.
- Collaborate with the CFO for governance-related reporting to governing bodies such as Executive Committee and Board.
- Build and nurture relationships with executive leadership and parent company counterparts.
- Lead, inspire, and develop a commercially driven FP&A team of three members.
Candidate Profile
- Professional qualification as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant.
- Extensive leadership experience in a similar commercial finance role.
- Demonstrated expertise in partnering with executives and Board members.
- Strong background in managing financial planning cycles and driving business success.
- Proven track record in team management with coaching and mentoring skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
- Experience with SAP is advantageous.
