Position Overview

The Junior Professorship of Business Psychology at the School of Business, Economics and Society, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), invites applications for a Research Associate / Doctoral Researcher role (75%, TV-L E13). The fixed-term position of three years commences on 1 November 2026 and includes the possibility of pursuing a doctoral degree.

Project Background

This role is integral to the research project titled “The Virtual Grapevine: Informal Communication and Sensemaking in Virtual Teamwork,” generously supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Candidate Profile

Ideal applicants possess:

A superior academic background with a Master’s degree or equivalent, primarily in industrial/organizational psychology or social psychology.
Strong proficiency in statistics and empirical research methodologies, with a keen interest in innovative approaches beyond conventional surveys, including observational techniques and interaction analysis.
Experience coupled with enthusiasm for scholarly writing.
Fluency in both German and English languages.
Preferably, expertise in intensive longitudinal research designs such as diary studies or experience-sampling methods.
