Job Overview
Start your career with Composites One as a General Warehouse Team Member. In this role, you will manage the accurate receiving, storage, shipment, and processing of materials, adhering strictly to company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure prompt and precise handling of all incoming and outgoing materials following FIFO principles, including managing freight claims and back orders while complying with freight and safety regulations.
- Receive, unload, and process incoming shipments; stock materials; handle customer returns; and report damaged goods to supervisors.
- Carry out various warehouse tasks such as assembling orders, verifying outbound shipments, conducting inventory audits, restocking, labeling vendor products, and performing daily cycle counts.
- Comply with pertinent DOT, EPA, OSHA, and health, safety & environmental (HS&E) standards.
- Maintain a safe and tidy work environment at all times.
- Accurately document shipping and receiving data.
- Promptly communicate potential inventory shortages or shipment damages to relevant personnel.
- Collaborate effectively with drivers to facilitate efficient loading and delivery operations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Understanding of FIFO stock rotation, OSHA guidelines, safety protocols, and hazardous material shipping regulations.
- Minimum education of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Ability to quickly become proficient with company database and software systems including near-miss reporting, MSDS, UPS, FedEx, and dedicated logistics platforms.
- Strong cross-department communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least two years’ warehouse experience involving order picking, shipping, receiving, and inventory counts.
- Associate's degree is a plus.
- Certified forklift operator.
Physical Requirements
- Must adhere to safe work practices including appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
- Perform moderate to heavy physical activities such as standing, reaching, walking, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, and occasional sitting.
- Capable of independently lifting and moving weights up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to remain on feet and active throughout entire shifts.
