Job description
Overview
Join Scotia General Insurance Agency in Jamaica as a General Insurance Advisor, contributing to the agency's success by executing individual goals aligned with team objectives. This role involves driving direct sales, fulfilling referrals from Bank Sales Officers, and providing ongoing customer service throughout the insurance relationship.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage new business development, fulfill referrals and quotes, and maintain excellent customer service and relationships.
- Promote and sell insurance products tailored to meet customers’ needs effectively.
- Handle referrals for quotes from Bank Sales Officers, ensuring customer needs are confirmed and provide clear explanations of product details and disclosures during sales fulfillment.
- Meet all insurer Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements and ensure customers fully understand products, their responsibilities, and terms and conditions.
- Adhere to underwriting guidelines and service accounts as needed.
- Address inquiries and changes connected to annual policy renewals and complete necessary KYC renewal reviews.
- Negotiate retention terms with clients to maintain policy continuity.
- Promote a customer-centric culture to deepen client relationships and utilize broader bank resources and knowledge.
- Ensure efficient and compliant operations in line with Scotiabank’s values, Code of Conduct, Global Sales Principles, and regulatory requirements including operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
- Foster a high-performance and inclusive work environment.
- Complete all assigned compliance-related training and protect sensitive bank and customer information confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
- Possess a college-level degree.
- Hold a valid sales license issued by the Financial Services Commission (FSC).
- Have a minimum of two years’ experience in a comparable role.
- Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Display exceptional customer service abilities.
