Role Overview
This full-time, on-premises position located in Sharjah involves overseeing daily accounting operations, including journal entry recording, ledger maintenance, and account reconciliation. The role requires preparation and evaluation of financial statements as well as assistance with monthly and annual closing activities to ensure precise and timely financial reporting. Responsibilities extend to utilizing accounting software for transaction processing, monitoring cash flow, and supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts. The position also entails financial data analysis, upholding internal controls, assisting with audit procedures, and working with various departments to resolve financial inquiries and enhance operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain distinct charts of accounts for two separate legal entities.
- Process, review, and reconcile daily accounting transactions accurately.
- Generate customer invoices and manage follow-up for overdue payments.
- Handle supplier invoicing, accounts payable, and company expenditures efficiently.
- Conduct monthly bank statement reconciliations.
- Perform month-end closing activities for both companies.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for each entity.
- Compile accounting records and supporting documentation for VAT and corporate tax submissions in the UAE.
- Maintain organized and compliant financial records, including invoices, receipts, contracts, and related documentation.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and government bodies as needed.
- Produce clear monthly financial and management reports for the business owner.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment and documentation for shared expenses and transactions between the two companies.
- Monitor accounts receivable, due payments, cash flows, and financial liabilities vigilantly.
- Assist in developing and refining internal financial controls, accounting policies, and approval mechanisms.
- Guarantee that financial records of both companies are separate, accurate, complete, and consistently updated.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Strong familiarity with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations is highly preferable.
- Between two and five years of relevant professional experience in accounting or finance.
- Professional proficiency in English at least at B2 level, with mandatory Arabic language skills.
- Hands-on expertise managing full accounting cycles and maintaining records for multiple legal entities.
- Practical experience with accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
- Skill in month-end closing and preparing financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Proficient in accounting software like Zoho Books, Odoo, QuickBooks, or Xero.
- Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical aptitude to interpret complex financial data.
- Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Understanding of local compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Effective collaboration skills to work alongside cross-functional teams in an onsite setting in Sharjah.
Additional Information
- Minimum 2 years' experience in finance.
