Role overview

E&I Technical Experts LLC, part of Al Abbas Group, is hiring a full-time Gardener in the United Arab Emirates to care for landscaped spaces across client sites. The role focuses on keeping gardens, lawns, trees, shrubs, and ornamental plants healthy, tidy, and visually appealing through regular maintenance, irrigation support, plant care, and grounds upkeep.

The company is part of Al Abbas Group, established in 1967, a diversified UAE business group active across distribution, solutions, real estate, manufacturing, food and beverage, support services, and strategic communications. E&I Technical Experts brings nearly 50 years of facility management experience and provides AMC-based services that include MEP services, building maintenance, general cleaning, interior fit-out, and interior design solutions.

Key responsibilities

The gardener will be responsible for routine landscape upkeep, plant health monitoring, irrigation checks, equipment handling, and adherence to safety standards while supporting the facilities management team.

Landscape care

• Irrigate, prune, trim, and maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, hedges, flower beds, and decorative plants.
• Install seasonal flowers, trees, shrubs, and other landscape elements according to approved plans.
• Mow lawns, edge grass, pull weeds, rake leaves, and keep outdoor areas neat and presentable.
• Carry out regular gardening work to preserve the condition and appearance of green spaces.
• Clear away dead plants, fallen branches, and debris while maintaining a safe work area.

Plant health and horticulture

• Observe plants, trees, and lawns for signs of pests, disease, weeds, or nutrient shortages.
• Use fertilizers, soil conditioners, pesticides, herbicides, and similar treatments as per procedures and safety rules.
• Suggest practical improvements to plant care and landscaping methods.
• Follow appropriate watering schedules based on season and environmental conditions.

Irrigation support

• Check, run, and perform basic upkeep on irrigation systems, sprinklers, valves, and drip lines.
• Spot and report leaks, broken pipes, malfunctioning sprinklers, or uneven water distribution.
• Work with maintenance teams when irrigation repairs are needed.
• Track irrigation performance to support efficient water use.

Equipment and grounds upkeep

• Use and maintain gardening equipment such as lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, brush cutters, leaf blowers, and similar tools.
• Clean and carry out minor maintenance on gardening tools and equipment.
• Inform the supervisor about damaged tools or maintenance needs.
• Store equipment and materials safely and handle them correctly.

Safety and compliance

• Follow company health, safety, and environmental requirements during all gardening tasks.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and follow site-specific safety rules.
• Keep work areas clean and dispose of green waste and other materials responsibly.
• Support safe, clean, and attractive outdoor environments for the facilities team.
• Take on other grounds or landscaping duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and experience

A high school certificate or equivalent is preferred. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance, with preference for experience in commercial, residential, hospitality, or facility management properties. Applicants should understand horticulture basics, irrigation systems, plant care, landscaping practices, fertilizers, and pest control. The role also requires the ability to safely operate gardening machinery, knowledge of lawn care and pruning, physical fitness for outdoor work in varying weather, and basic English communication skills. The gardener must be able to work independently as well as part of a team and follow supervisor instructions.

Preferred background

Additional advantage will be given to candidates with UAE or GCC facility management experience, irrigation troubleshooting knowledge, water conservation awareness, familiarity with ornamental and native plants, seasonal planting knowledge, and a basic understanding of workplace safety and environmental best practices.
