About Chicken on the Way
Chicken on the Way is a beloved family-owned restaurant serving the Calgary community since 1959. Known for its iconic status, the establishment is eager to hire 2 full-time individuals to join their dedicated team.
Job Responsibilities
- Begin work at the Till and Front Counter by taking customer orders and processing payments accurately.
- Prepare and wrap food orders efficiently while maintaining an organized and clean work environment.
- Stock shelves and put away deliveries, including boxes and supplies.
- Perform thorough cleaning duties during less busy times to ensure hygiene standards.
- Upon mastering front counter tasks, receive a pay increase and cross-train in kitchen duties.
- Kitchen tasks include blanching and finishing fries, cooking menu items, assembling meals, and upholding quality control.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen areas and handle stock appropriately.
- Take on additional responsibilities like covering kitchen breaks to qualify for further wage increases.
Requirements
- Must have full-time availability, particularly comfortable working evenings and weekends.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Friendly and respectful communication with customers and coworkers is essential.
- Ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs.
- Own transportation arrangement for late shifts on Fridays and Saturdays when public transit is unavailable (closing time is 1:00 AM).
Compensation and Advancement
- Starting wage at front counter: $16 per hour plus tips.
- After progressing to kitchen responsibilities: $17 per hour plus tips.
- Additional responsibilities and kitchen break coverage can raise pay to $18 per hour plus tips.
- Supervisory positions offer wages ranging from approximately $20 to $22 per hour plus tips, influenced by experience and performance.
