For the publicist, this removes much of the frustrating side of agency work: there is no cold pitching to journalists who do not respond, and no awkward conversations about retainers that produced no results. When coverage is promised, it is delivered.

Role overview

This is a full-time remote position in which you will manage a client portfolio from start to finish. Inbound leads are warm and are booked directly into your Zoom calendar, so no outbound prospecting is required. During discovery calls, you will assess the client’s PR needs, shape an appropriate strategy, and handle scoping and pricing yourself using HubSpot. After the client signs, you take over as their publicist: drafting feature articles and press releases, coordinating placement with publication partners, and maintaining the relationship through regular check-ins, renewals, and expansion as the account portfolio grows.

Unlike many agencies where account management, writing, and client service are separated, this role combines all of those responsibilities in one person. That gives the publicist end-to-end ownership, clients a single point of contact who understands their story, and reward tied to the full relationship rather than only one part of the process.

What success looks like

• You can produce strong feature-style copy under pressure and within deadlines.
• You are confident handling commercial conversations, including scoping, pricing, and closing engagements.
• You communicate clearly in both spoken and written English, especially on video calls.
• You stay highly organised and can manage a growing set of accounts in HubSpot without missing details.

Practical requirements

• This is a remote position, so you must have your own computer with admin access and at least 8 GB RAM.
• You need a stable internet connection of 25 Mbps or higher.
• A quiet environment suitable for client-facing video calls is required.
