Food Service Worker

Role Overview

This position is for a Food Service Worker with Fresh Ideas at Young Harris College in Young Harris, Georgia. Both full-time and part-time openings are available, and the employer is hiring immediately.

What You’ll Do

The role focuses on preparing, presenting, and serving food to guests while keeping operations clean, safe, and organized.

• Handle basic prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding produce.
• Measure ingredients accurately for food production.
• Move food pans, kettles, and trays between work areas, stoves, and refrigerators while following safety guidelines.
• Store ingredients and finished items in the correct locations using proper wrapping, dating, rotation, and food safety practices.
• Keep workstations, tools, and equipment clean.
• Set out supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as needed.
• Follow approved recipes and production standards to maintain quality, serving temperature, and portion consistency.
• Serve customers courteously and efficiently using the required service steps.
• Address customer issues and pass important information to a supervisor.
• Follow company rules for service standards, inventory handling, and cash control.
• Maintain sanitation and safety compliance at all times.
• Take on additional duties when assigned.

Experience Needed

Previous food service experience is preferred.
