Overview and Key Duties
As a Finance Analyst at KIHOMAC based in Layton, UT, you will play a pivotal role in guiding program managers to achieve precise and compliant financial reporting. Your responsibilities include establishing and overseeing project setups within Unanet, conducting thorough budgeting and financial analyses, and developing project cost and schedule baselines alongside budgets.
You will consistently track actual project expenses, address any discrepancies, and monitor obligations such as travel and subcontract commitments. Monthly financial forecasts and estimates at completion (EACs) will be developed alongside detailed variance assessments. Additionally, you are expected to analyze project burn rates relative to remaining funding to ensure fiscal discipline.
Completing earned value calculations, evaluating work in progress, and supporting monthly program reviews are core to your tasks. Contractual documents such as contracts, subcontracts, and agreements will require detailed evaluation to ensure financial and reporting compliance. Assisting in pricing strategies and collecting relevant historical data will supplement your analytical duties.
Additional Responsibilities
You will also generate forward-looking financial analyses and forecasts pertaining to various areas including manufacturing and sales. Identifying trends and competitive developments and effectively communicating these insights to senior management is essential. Other assigned tasks will complement the primary functions.
Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, while holding a Master's degree is favorable. Experience working within government contracting environments, expertise in cost and financial analysis, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at various levels are important. You should be capable of working independently and creatively, leveraging process improvement and automation opportunities.
Proficiency with ERP systems, experience assembling analytical tools supporting operations, and advanced skills in Excel are necessary. Candidates should have at least two years of experience in management and program oversight. Familiarity with Earned Value Management, Unanet software, as well as Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint is preferred.
Security and Physical Requirements
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain necessary security clearances for the role. Physically, the job requires occasional reaching with hands and arms, extended periods of computer work either seated or standing, and adherence to safety practices including the usage of personal protective equipment such as eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes. The ability to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds is also required.
