About the Role
Join Primark as an External Communications Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This position demands collaboration across diverse teams and skillsets to lead comprehensive communications initiatives with a global and local focus. You'll manage communications for significant corporate announcements, campaigns, store launches, and strategic milestones while guiding markets lacking in-house communications support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop integrated communications strategies for key corporate and strategic initiatives with global and local perspectives.
- Plan and execute communications for major business announcements, marketing campaigns, new store openings, and company milestones, coordinating multiple stakeholders for flawless delivery.
- Serve as the primary contact for regions without dedicated in-market communications resources; advise senior leadership and liaise with central Corporate Affairs.
- Create and oversee production of high-quality media materials including press releases, statements, content for websites and LinkedIn, and Q&A documents; support spokesperson preparation.
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with media and external partners to boost brand exposure and create impactful collaborations.
- Manage agency partnerships and proactively monitor, report, and mitigate reputational risks via media, stakeholders, and digital channels.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in external communications, preferably within dynamic sectors like retail, FMCG, or agencies.
- Extensive expertise in media relations including guidance and drafting high-pressure responses.
- Proven capability in crafting and deploying effective communications plans for business priorities.
- Exceptional project management skills, adept at juggling multiple deadlines and priorities concurrently.
- Strong analytical thinking with sound judgment to break down complex challenges and manage stakeholders’ expectations effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills; thrives in team environments and performs well under pressure.
