Role Summary

Due to ongoing successful projects, Glanville Environmental seeks an experienced Estimator to join their team, focusing primarily on the Drinking Water and some Waste Water workstreams for clients like South West Water and Wessex Water through framework contracts.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and price infrastructure works related mainly to Drinking Water and occasionally Waste Water projects across the Southwest.
• Play an integral role in pre-construction activities by preparing necessary documentation that supports successful project bids and contract wins.
• Handle estimates for several projects using framework rates, first principles pricing, agreement preambles, and adhere to NEC 4 contract rules to optimize workload and performance.
• Ensure all pre-construction obligations, including compliance with CDM regulations and client-required contract paperwork, are fulfilled.
• Collaborate with the experienced team to scope and estimate projects, delivering competitively priced and thoroughly calculated quotes for repair works based on established rates and principles.
• Engage effectively with current and potential clients, addressing their needs and supporting business expansion.
• Assist in managing job and pricing requests, gathering relevant information, and entering data into management systems to improve operational efficiency.
• Help maintain and update company systems to ensure smooth daily operations for the team.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient with various computer software, especially Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Capable of interacting with client systems to perform data entry and analysis, aiding audits and future project costings.
• Experience in utilities sector, specifically water or sewage, is essential; prior work in Water Utility Industry including sewer networks is highly preferred.
• Self-driven and motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while meeting critical contract Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and other contract types is advantageous.
• Demonstrates a proactive, dynamic work ethic, capable of motivating oneself and others to meet various goals often under tight deadlines.
• Solid background in civil engineering and drainage sectors is required, with openness to innovation and challenging industry norms.
