Job Overview
Advanced Technologies & Laboratories International, Inc. (ATL) is seeking a dedicated Epidemiologist for the National Firefighter Registry (NFR) for Cancer project. The role involves executing a broad scope of intricate epidemiological and research duties as well as offering expert guidance and support to various governmental health agencies including federal, state, and local levels on diverse epidemiology projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate public health concerns and assess their influence on public policy or scientific investigations and surveys.
- Review and improve study or project implementation protocols by collaborating with program experts or scientists and coordinating necessary adjustments with relevant staff.
- Maintain data integrity and assess limitations by detecting deficiencies and inconsistencies in datasets; develop and oversee methods to amend these data.
- Advise and assist in establishing and executing procedures, methodologies, and tactics to gather and apply scientific data reflecting the prevalence of significant health risks or project outcomes.
- Provide consultative support to complex projects featuring challenging scientific questions or scenarios.
- Work jointly with analysts and statisticians to formulate combined analyses and co-author publications.
- Contribute to merging social science and epidemiological information to design effective prevention initiatives and practice guidelines, ensuring that research findings are shared and utilized by public health authorities and scientists both within and beyond the CDC.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years of relevant work experience.
Technical Proficiencies Required
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with communication platforms such as Teams and SharePoint.
