About the Role
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) is offering a full-time position for an Environmental Assistant based at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, located at 280 Balderstone Road, West St. Paul, Manitoba. The role involves maintaining facility cleanliness through various cleaning activities including high and damp dusting, dust mopping, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, floor stripping, refinishing, and waste management. Compensation
The salary ranges across five levels from $20.35 to $22.84 per hour, reflecting progression within the role.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- A minimum of one year of housekeeping experience in an institutional, commercial, or healthcare setting is preferred; however, training will be provided.
- Educational qualification of Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards relevant to the department is necessary.
- Commitment to resident safety at all times is essential.
- Physical ability to perform duties involving bending, stooping, kneeling, stretching, and climbing stepladders.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
Physical and Safety Considerations

- Employees might encounter aggressive or agitated individuals.
- Physical demands include bending, lifting, balancing, walking, and stooping.
- Successful candidates must provide current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check, obtained within six months before employment.
